MP Henderson's visit

Swale business of the year visited

MP Gordon Henderson, who made a New Year commitment to continue supporting local businesses, made a visit to Carousel Logistics, which was Swale Business of the Year 2011.

The Sittingbourne based logistics company which was established in 1984, designs, implements and distribution and warehousing for a range of companies.

Mr Henderson was given a tour of the head office and warehouse by brothers Graham Martin, who is Managing Director and Michael Martin the Business Development Director.

Michael Martin said: “It was great to have the chance to talk directly with Mr Henderson and show him the contribution that businesses like Carousel are making to the local economy and community. I am delighted that our local MP is taking the time to listen to and show his support for local businesses.”

During the tour they discussed issues affecting businesses in Sittingbourne. Top of the agenda was the local road infrastructure and the much speculated airport developments in the South East.

Mr Henderson said: “It is important to listen to the needs and concerns of the local business community in the current economic climate and I will continue to work closely with all businesses, whatever size or form, through my Sittingbourne and Sheppey Link 2 Business website.”
